The Financial Intelligence Unit of the Republic of Kosovo on 12/07/2022 has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoU) with the counterpart unit from Japan (JAFIC) – Japan Financial Intelligence Center. This MoU was signed during the week of the 28th Plenary Meeting of the Egmont Group, held in Riga, Latvia.
This memorandum is signed in the spirit of cooperation and mutual interest, and is intended to facilitate the exchange of information to assist the investigation of suspected money laundering, related criminal offenses and terrorist financing, as well as for the purpose of disseminating of information which may ultimately result in investigations and prosecutions by the competent authorities in their respective countries, within the framework of the national legislation in force in each country.
NJIF-K and JAFIC remain strong partners in joint efforts to combat ML/TF.
